Lightning rods have been used for over 200 years as a conductive metal rod mounted atop a roof. They route the lightning strike away from the structure, channelling it into the ground. These are normally metal rods, typically made of copper or aluminium and are placed safely on a roof. Various newer technologies are available in addition to lightning rod protection - Conventional lightning rods, early streamer emissions and Dissipation Array system. So why attract lightning when you can eliminate it. Our manufactured and patented Dissipation Array System (DAS) is designed to eliminate, mitigate or reduce the probability of a lightning strike. It works on Charge Transfer Technology, wherein it interrupts the formation of upward streamers through point discharge (the upward streamer does not get enough energy from a storm to connect with downward leaders). This lightning protection rod is most effective when used in combination with other lightning protection devices, surge protection, and grounding solutions. The DAS lightning rod protection reduces operational costs and is our most reliable product. We also offer a ‘no strike’ warranty ensuring complete protection on all our installations. DAS vs. conventional lightning rod protection
Spline Ball Ionizer (SBI) This lightning protection rod uses the same technology as DAS, however, it’s designed to be modular and smaller than the DAS, to reduce cost and is about 30% superior to a conventional lightning protection rod. SBI is lightweight, easy to install and all construction are stainless steel and UL listed. Spline Ball Terminal (SBT) Unlike its above counterpart, SBT works on a hybrid technology. It prevents a lightning strike and collects the rest and grounds them more reliably. This air terminal can either be a direct replacement for standard lightning protection rods or be retrofitted into existing lightning rod bases. SBT is best used for office buildings, manufacturing facilities, and other commercial structures. In conclusion, Lightning Eliminators & Consultant Inc. is a smart risk reduction choice for every industry.
